What is done cannot be undone. What is yours will be yours. What is not yours will never be yours. Today was overwhelmed wif disappointment...but nvm...lets be optimistic...

Higher chinese: returned test paper. Disappointed wif my careless mistakes...haiz

Geog: went thru tys questions.

Maths (ben3 lai2 shi4 chem, but gope by sungkk): matrices

English: HAHAX, so funny today. Let me quote lokelf:

"Effect of grass now and then" (really not niao)

"Eric arh...how arh? you are not quite there arh" (really not niao)

"The story is in correct english. It will be a high B3" -_- (zhen de bu hui niao)

Physics: haiz, shant talk about it

Maths again...nothing to talk about it lah...matrices all the way...have been plusing and multiplying like nobody's business

Bio: 1st time can slack for 5-10 min coz yipcw finished going thru wks fast mah, then she wanna settle some admin work wif some ppl only...so i was bz finishing the maths so i dun have to bring that book mah...

Mi forgot to bring geog textbook, heng i rem during my ep3, so i ran back to class to take it lor...HENG arh...:D

Got a camp briefing in the auditorium by mr yap, hahaz, his jokes are damn funny. The real funny jokes which most of us laughed. Not the joke that we dunno what it is talking about (erm...cracked by miss sim, talking about toa payoh or hougang or potong pasir [dunno which one]), hahaz, she said it and later she added, "Actually, it is meant to be a joke" and previously, NO ONE laughed...coz NO ONE knew what is she joking about...then after she said, "it is meant to be a joke", we all fake fake laughed...hahaz

Mr Jeffrey lim is in my group (for the annual camp) as teacher i/c -_-, together wif yangwz. Knew quite a number of ppl in my group :D
Forgot to quote miss sim:

"When i need to pass message to your class, very easy one. I juz need to look around coz there will be at least one 4E person there. Going to the same table some more"

Really not niao lah hor...hahaz
"There are failures for the test. Brian did very well, he got 27/35. He is one of the rare few. A lot of people are dangling at 20, plus minus 2" - Mrs Ng

WAH LAU, i din do that well for this test lor, i feel...wah lau, got failures...i am scared it is me lor...and tml she is giving out the test paper liao! -_-

Assembly: yeah, got the programme booklet for the annual camp in week 8. hahaz, i find that chiangmai a bit slack...krabi i think more demanding coz it is like OBS-type...hahaz

Chemistry: returned test paper. Mrs sow say tml her lesson will be goped by sungkk, which means to say we will only be starting on organic chemistry next thursday...really not late de gan jue...which means to say June holidays we will be piaing organic chem like nobody's business. hahaz

Maths: today start on matrices (so fast P & C is gone)

SS: hahaz, at 2pm only like half the class is present? :P and the surprise of the century: she has marked finish our test paper! TWO days only leh!!! Wah! Normally she took about a month to mark finish and return us the test paper (after all the preparation of answer). Now, two days...wah...really not qi2 ji1.

Higher chinese: wongsm gave back compo assignment. She commented: expression imrpove A LITTLE bit, but content wise not good (coz my pts not very good). I thought the double period is used for returning some assignments, but then i din expect her to gif us a letter writing assignment to do!

Went to staff room wif wen xi, coz he (and also me) wanna noe the SS test mark mah (k-p-o) but then miss sim dun wanna let us see. She was looking thru the test paper again and she commented: 1st question killed you all. 2nd question is very straightforward. I told her: actually, we din expect the 2 questions coz we thought is source-based. Her mouth was wide open...hahaZ. She said: complacent lah...then wen xi said: slack lah (i think miss sim thought he is referring to us not preparing for structured essay but instead prepare for source-based that is not that content-demanding, but wen xi got other meaning inside it...HAHAX :P)

Went home, slept in the bus, now bloggering here. Today cannot slack ardy, coz got tons of things to do.

Ai yoh, lu xin, dunno how to lie is it? :P

Luckily mi and lu xin din have any tension between us even though we got some disagreements over something...and luckily i told him about it...(see? i so nice :P), if not he SURELY fan1 lian3. Confirm...99.9% (0.1% is the probability of him getting too angry until he die :P So no chance for him to fan1 lian3 :P:P:P...haiz, mi so evil)

Chem practical: titration, different kind of titration coz it is redox reaction, not the normal acid-base reaction. The whole burrette is like so dark lor...hahaz. Potassium manganate (VII)'s fault :P

Higher chinese: dunno leh, got the not-very-prepared feeling leh...but heng, i din flop like hell, but one ci yu i write wrongly...so careless...

Double english: picture discussion...i wasn't called out to do the picture discussion :D, but sooner or later it will be me lah. Some more my picture quite difficult lor...

Double maths: haiz, i think my P & C skills sux lor...cant visualise leh...wen xi is there doing all the questions like chicken feet...ai yoh, and some qns i am struggling lor -_-

Yeah, today is my FREE day, so slack slack slack :P

Tuesday, April 27, 2004

BIG BIG BIG SHOCK (not surprise hor) today...my mouth was wide open, HAR-ing all the way...still cannot believe, still cannot imagine...it is TOTALLY UNEXPECTED...but nvm, at least i manage to churn out something...WITHOUT having the contents of SS textbook but only geog textbook. Win liao lor...:P

After that shocking incident, lessons are as per normal, nothing very interesting i think...oh ya, geog lesson, mrs tay know a lot of things leh...she like know everything in the whole world lor...not like me, so sua gu, dunno the road names lah, dunno where is this place and where is that place...forget it, i am a road idiot.

Hahaz, louie so suay today...(shall not despise him here...see? i veri nice one...:P)

Australian science competition at 2pm LT4, this year quite difficult, a lot of astronomy questions. Some questions i really have no idea lor...dunno how i perform for this competition lah. Results will be released in july as claimed by limth. Dunno true or not (so fast meh?)

Monday, April 26, 2004

Hmm...blogs are never safe if they are public ones...so dun complain and curse anyone in your public blogs hor...anyone can juz access it anywhere and anytime...including the people u cursed...hahaz, too bad i dun curse people in my blog :D

And i juz find that my blog is getting boring...hmm...juz merely stating down what had happened in school is getting more and more sianz, but i spent most of my time in school wad...so what can i write beside the school day...at home? well...other than the usual stuff, i dun think i got anything interesting and surprising to write about leh...haiz, whateva it is, forget it.

English: VLE lesson, hahaz, lokelf is featured in one of the videos there...a short one. Saying something about atmosphere.

Physics: i hope she can finish the electromagnetic induction and electronics soon leh...coz i like radioactivity :D Also, i know some knowledge of it mah (becoz of my sci quiz training)

Higher chinese: finally finished discussing about the ans for the compre assignment...

Geography: geog test on weathering and rivers today. I think mrs tay say b4 she is going to return both the volcanoes and this test together on a certain day...hahaz

Double maths: started on permutations and combinations coz sungkk said relative velocity is too long and he dun wanna start.

Bio prac: reducing sugar test experiment and the drawing and labelling of fruits (again)...hahaz, we got so many experiments on it liao lor...the tomato so wasteful, cut TS then throw away...:P. The bio prac hor a lot of funny things happen lah. 1st thing, wen xi did PHYSICS experiment, coz hor, he wanna test whether water boils or not mah...coz he was bz doing other things while leaving the beaker of water to boil and boil...hahaZ. Later wen xi cut the tomato wrongly, he went to cut LS -_-, then later scared lose face in front of yipcw, so he hid the tomato when yipcw walked past him. Really not funny lor...hahaz. Towards the end of the experiment, jin rui threw the tomato on the wall and it leaves a DAMN FUNNY mark on the wall...really not the whole class laugh lor...he damn zai...hahaz :D

Who is eme arh? Can anyone tell me? Or can eme tell me?

Watched "walking tall" today, not a very good movie leh. 1st thing, the whole movie is less than 1h 30 min...and there is no climax one lor...and the movie ended so fast and abrupt! Cant believe it...the fighting is also like no kick one lor...not the kind of pro fighting, i think this movie is worse than "the rundown" lor...the rundown better...this movie i dun really like leh...

Mi going to start geog revision liao...
Juz realised that april is ending and may is coming, time really flies so fast...

I was watching TV in the morning...and now doing nothing fruitful...:P

Saturday, April 24, 2004

Hahaz, i saw the trailer for harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban, EXCELLENT. I think it will come in either june or september, dun really noe...
Watched dawn of the dead today, hahaz, 1st NC-16 movie. Yeah, this movie is the typical zombie movie and the storyline is rather simple. Some kind of unknown virus is spreading in the United States and it is spreading so fast coz if one zombie bites another human, that human will be dead...and then revived...to a zombie. So the population of zombies is like foreva increasing.

Of cuz, there will be some ppl who survived and the movie is showing what they do to ensure their survival against the increasing horde of zombies.

Well...the whole movie started off wif something light but you can detect something wrong liao. 1st thing is you can see one or two patients (the main actress is a nurse and the 1st setting is in a hospital) being bitten (you can see some injuries at the neck there).

When the nurse is going back home, you can see only her car is driving on the road. Not a SINGLE car can be seen on the road...only hers. And there is this little girl who is on her roller blades. Get the idea? Something is going to happen liao...

I dun wanna spoil the whole movie by telling you which part is violent or what...but i feel that the 1st violent scene is the most violent one...i think, well...i thought that is just a warm-up and yi3 wei2 got some more scenes that are more violent than the 1st, but i dun think the other scenes are that violent lah. Only the occasionally abrupt appearance of the zombies, the noise made by the zombies (the noise is rather loud). Hahaz, and the whole movie is rather bloody (esp the 1st violent scene) and i think it is the 1st violent scene that makes it NC-16...hahaz. Maybe a lot of blood in this movie, that's why it is NC-16 lor...

Go and watch this movie, quite good.

Today din do anything much. Did most of my hwk and played computer game. Will be revising geog tml.

Friday, April 23, 2004

Careless will juz ruin everything...haiz, forget it. I think physics test i din study hard and well enough. Made A LOT of careless mistakes that cost me so many marks...LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME mistakes...ARGH! Haiz, forget it, what is done is done. What i can do now is just to wait for mrs ng to return that test paper...nothing else.

Higher chinese: got back test paper + compre assignment

Geography: settlement

Chemistry: finished metals, will be starting on organic chem next week (finally). Photocopying lady nv photocopy the last page on recycling, so some of us dun have, mrs sow has to photocopy for us (some ppl only...)

English: picture discussion - allocation of pictures

Physics: test on magnetism and electromagnetism. Mis-perform for this test...

Maths: finished vectors.

Bio: continued on reproduction in humans - menstruation cycle

Haiz, nothing really interesting happened in sch leh, so my blog is getting really boring. Cannot help it lah, nothing really happened mah...hahaz

Thursday, April 22, 2004

Happy Birthday LOUIE! Heard that wu lei also same birthday as him, so happy birthday to him as well. Hope you like my present, louie. :D
Physics prac: haiz, juz realise that my experimental skills not very good. Cannot get accurate readings leh...
-_-

Assembly: today is consortium assembly, mrs mok and mr charles low talk about all those admin matters and other issues lah. PCME (conducted by yipcw) is about portfolio stuff

Chemistry: mrs sow's exam is todae (not yesterdae) so wish her good luck :D I think tml she will finish on metals (finally)...hahaz, left only a little bit.

Maths: vectors again

SS: returned SS test paper. Contented wif my results

Higher chinese: did a summary assignment. Mi over world limit so i am prepared to deduct one mark from total score, no choice...cannot cancel anymore liao...

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

Mrs sow was not in school (i think she went to take her masters exam) so mr lim teck huat took over, today got chem prac on physical chem. I accidentally spilled the oxidising agent over my paper, then later it turned brown...hahaz, so "nice"...:P

English compre test: H-A-R-D. The summary i din write the whole para 9 (the longest para), it may have some pts but hor, if i write the words confirm exceed like hell. In summary confirm got more than 15 pts one so cannot write everything one wad...but overall the test is quite hard lah, i feel.

Double maths: vectors and sungkk's comments on our recent a maths test.

Yeah, coz afternoon nothing on so mi went home early. Went to lot 1 1st to buy pressie for louie, then went home, read I-weekly magazine until now, then blog lor. Finished my maths hwk in school today :D

Later need to leave home at about 5.30pm coz got CO concert at esplanade. Hahaz, 1st time going there, so muz treasure the opportunity.

Coz today i miss my bus mah, then hor wongsm and hong ji from dunno where saw it -_- (coz hong ji called me and told me about it mah...)

Tuesday, April 20, 2004

Miss sim said she cannot return us the SS test paper coz someone from other class haven taken the test. Dunno if it is real or she haven finished marking...hahaz, but i think i believe her lah, she dun have to lie to us wad...

She started on housing todae (new topic...finally) and we are having a SS test on next tuesday! -_-

Biology: continued wif the sexual reproduction in humans. Hahaz, everyone is so attentive

Maths: sungkk marked half way thru our a maths test and he was quite disappointed in some of us, coz got some mistakes here and there and rather careless. Aston also haven taken the test so even if he marked finish, he also cannot gif out...

Geog: lesson at computer lab 1, IT lesson, went to ura and env website. Kenna "electric shocked" by wen xi and some other people coz i wasn't noticing them and they suddenly put their hands on my ears and "PIA"...-_-

Higher chinese: returned test paper (din really expect my compre to get so low marks...). She went thru summary and compre.

Did most of the maths questions for hwk in school, realised how difficult some questions are, then last question dunno why cannot get the answer...i think i am careless someway so later go and check again.

Senior came today, hahaz, chatted wif him for some time b4 he went off. Asked him about some JC stuff and the new changes implemented next year.

Slept in the bus coz very tired, haiz...always like tt...Mi decided to buy the pressie for lu xin tml coz tml nothing on in the afternoon so can go home early and got a lot of free time. So tml then buy (dun worri louie, you confirm will get the pressie no matter what) :D

Some chemistry knowledge:

Actinium is dangerously radioactive. The chemical behaviour of actinium is similar to that of the rare earths, particularly lanthanum. It is found naturally in uranium ores and actinium is 150 times more radioactive than radium.

Monday, April 19, 2004

Morning announcement: leefy so fast do the script for today's morning announcement for the results of the victoria quiz and paul memorial quiz. hahaz, yi yang had to hand the big trophy to mr chung wen chee (hahaz, he carried it dunno how many times liao...:P), but then when we had to bring the trophy to the office, leonard is the one who carried it...and yi yang carried the lightest of all - certificates and book vouchers :D (i carried the other trophy [paul memorial quiz] which is for the school and the trophy for the micromouse competition)

Lokelf is away for dunno what reason (i think course or something, but i am not sure) so yipcw took her lesson and today we started on the topic called sexual reproduction in humans :D

Physics: crap, coz mrs ng wanted us to copy down the ans from the screen and when we asked her to upload the file, she say she going to take it down -_-, really not lame, and juz now i checked, she din take it down lor...hahaz, but even she took it down, i ardy downloaded it...so hahaz :P

I think she wants us to have some impression of the ans while copying down lah. Next week she will start on electronics.

Higher chinese: she went thru summary but din manage to complete coz the summary is quite difficult actually...judging from the marks we get and our seniors in 2002 get

Geography: haiz, i am caught sleeping in front of mrs tay (coz got video so i moved up, but then so tired [last night slept at 11pm after watching NKF show and this is considered LATE for me ok?], so dozed off in front of mrs tay, then i thought only for a while she wun notice but then suddenly she called my name and said, "Eric, dun sleep in my class"...-_-, luckily she din sound angry. Later she said, "by the way congratulations for your whateva quiz", hahaz she is referring to the paul memorial quiz.

Double maths: 1st time in history sungkk's test is considered difficult. I think i got some parts of the last qn wrong...dunno why, but nvm, think i use wrong method...but wun really affect me lah. Some of my classmates keep on saying "fail liao lah, die liao lah", ai yah, dun worri lah...

Bio prac: food test (dealing wif vegetable oil) and some bean practical that made me so fed up and irritated, coz we have to draw so many things and i draw wrongly initially and this made me feel so bu shuang...haiz

Today i am so sarcastic (i think this is under the influence of leefy :P), niaoing wen xi and he also niao me back...but then hor, pls dun mistaken, our sarcasm is not the suan type, not the lokelf type hor, ours hor the sarcasm is deionised water (pH 7), lokelf's type is concentrated sulphuric acid, can corrode everything one...(plus, it is very suan :P) [application of chemistry]

Some chemistry knowledge:

Zirconium is a greyish-white lustrous metal. The finely divided metal can ignite spontaneously in air, especially at elevated temperatures. The solid metal is much more difficult to ignite. The inherent toxicity of zirconium compounds is low. Hafnium is invariably found in zirconium ores, and the separation is difficult. Commercial grade zirconium contains from 1 to 3% hafnium. The hafnium is removed from the zirconium used in the nuclear power industry.

Sunday, April 18, 2004

Boring sunday

Afternoon i wanna watch movie one, i haven even watched hellboy...haiz, but then i am too absorbed in my computer game, plus i haven finished my hwk, so in the end din go out...haiz, what a pity. Morning watch TV, afternoon do hwk + play computer, evening crapping wif lu xin. Later got NKF show, and i am watching it :D

Saturday, April 17, 2004

YEAH! My group is the champion in the 26th C.B. Paul Memorial Quiz 2004 organised by ACJC and sponsored by DSTA. Veri happy!

The quiz has 6 domains: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, information technology and astronomy

The quiz is today, held at acjc. The first round consists of one written test (25 mcqs and 5 open-ended qns) and one practical test. We do the written test 1st and it is only 45 minutes. Some questions are spotted by us and the IT qns only got 2 and they are very simple (thank god!). Some astro qns we dunno but then the test dun have too many astro qns. Some maths qns can be done though we nv train for maths one...

Next is practical test, got 2 practicals we need to do (got 3, we need to do 2 only). Leonard do the bio one in which we got to look under the microscope the structure of a potato cell and draw, then label. Yi yang and mi do the next practical is also bio, it is to count the number of bubbles released when different number of potato slices is mixed wif fixed concentration of hydrogen peroxide. So we need to cut potato and count bubbles. The bubbles come out so many so i was there counting without blinking, hahaz. Practical only got 45 minutes and we finished everyting on the spot, last 5 minutes we were trying to rush by answering the qns behind. Thank god i have looked thru and jotted down the ans. So, we dun have to waste time thinking about the ans when the time left is only 5 minutes. The qns are O level standard so they can be done lor...

Next is some refreshments, then we were discussing some qns in the written test and also the practical. After some refreshments and some waiting time, the chairman of the quiz announced the top 4 teams that made it into the final round. Leonard, yi yang and me were so nervous...

1st team: Raffles Institution

2nd team: The Chinese High School (YEAH!)

3rd team and 4th team: Singapore Chinese Girls' School and Raffles Girls' School (dunno which sch he announced 1st coz i was too happy to listen...)

So, we went down to draw lots to determine which team we were in and where we will be sitting (got team A,B,C and D). Yi yang chose (we were the last school to choose) and we were in team D.

1st part of final round: there were 24 qns for us to choose. in each turn, each team need to choose 2 qns, until all 24 qns were answered. No marks will be deducted if the team answered incorrectly or the team did not give an answer. The qns are at random, coz you are supposed to pick a number and the qn will appear...in the end, we were in the lead.

2nd part of final round: jeopady round, each team need to choose a category of the 6 domains and choose hard, medium or easy. Marks will be deducted if the team answered incorrectly or the team did not give an answer, so this one die die also muz answer. Luckily for us, SCGS liked to choose maths and physics, RI liked to choose IT and astro, RGS dun have any preferences, for us, we liked chemistry and biology (i dun like to take physics qns coz some of their physics qns need calculations, very few questions test your knowledge of all those physics terms). We are very lucky, coz some qns we dun really know the answer but we tikam correctly! And RI answered some qns wrongly (coz in the 1st part of the final round, RI and our score VERY close), so in the end, with the help of tikam tikam's god, we managed to be in the lead again :D

3rd part of the final round (the final part) is the speed round (buzzer round): qns will come out and we have to qiang3 da2. There were 16 qns in total and marks will also be deducted for unanswered or incorrect answers. So we said to ourselves that only we were 100% certain then we press the button to answer (RI's score and our score very close...we dun dare to take risks...)

RI was a bit daring so they answered a lot of qns. Some correct some wrong so in the end, the last qn, RI got 230 and we got 235! So if last qn RI answered it correctly, our championship is gone. But then, RGS saved us all. Coz RGS no matter what is 3rd and SCGS no matter what is 4th, but then when RI people were bz calculating the last qn (it is a maths qn and we dunno what the heck it is asking...so we could not do anything), RGS pressed the button and answered it correctly! Which means to say, RGS saved us all! Of cuz RI may not answer it correctly lah, but then hor, if they answer it correctly then we lost the championship ardy. But then got some qns i noe how to answer one, but think too much, so in the end RI pressed the button b4 me and they answered it correctly... (coz the qns are very tricky so i was thinking twice whether it is the correct ans - in the end, it IS the correct ans)

And thank god kenneth khoo and mak gave us some tuition on astro, it helped us a lot in the final round and prelim round. So, thanks!

RI lost a lot of pts coz the qns are VERY tricky and some qns they kenna tricked by them, so resulting in the loss of many pts. We played safe, so our pts din increase a lot after the 2nd part of the final round.

In the end, we won the 1st prize and defended the championship! (last year also TCHS got champion). The challenge trophy was heavy and when we looked at the records, we realised that RI won 3 times, then TCHS won, then we won again :D

Went to reception later, so high class...very good food served. ACJC people took some group photos for us :D. The RI people came to us and congratulated us (it is very friendly and da4 fang1 of them). Actually i thought of thanking RGS people for helping us in the last qn, but then in the end, we nv went to thank her...but deep in our hearts we thanked them liao :D

Went back to sch via taxi, put the challenge trophy, the trophy for the sch and all the certficates and some vouchers (i think, it is sealed in an envelope) on leefy's table, hahaz, we placed the huge challenge trophy on leefy's chair! :P

yeotc was there and saw us, so she congratulated us :D

Overall, i am very elated today, coz at least my hard work is worthwhile. At least the notes i typed out during the preparation of the competition are all worthwhile, at least my efforts din wash down the drains...at least the staying up in the night of several days to pia thru the syllabus is not wasted at all. So in conclusion: very happy. Din disappoint leefy and all the other people who wished me all the best for this competition (mrs chan, miss gam [the person in charge for the CDAC cip], and many others...)

Once again, let me acknowledge the people who helped us in the process of the preparation for the competition:

1. Mr Lee Foo Yong
2. Mak
3. Kenneth khoo (and jonathan lin and wei kok)
4. The other sci quiz members for the notes and for testing one another...
5. Others who have helped us in some way or another :D

I gained a lot during the preparation of this competition, esp a lot of science knowledge and the unforgettable experience in the C.B. Paul Memorial Quiz 2004 :D

Some chemistry knowledge:

Molybdenum is a silvery-white, hard, transition metal. Scheele discovered it in 1778. It was often confused with graphite and lead ore. Molybdenum is used in alloys, electrodes and catalysts. The World War 2 German artillery piece called "Big Bertha" contains molybdenum as an essential component of its steel.

Today was pretty fine :D

Higher chinese: compre assignment, din manage to complete it in her lesson but then at the end of the day managed to complete it...

Geography: returned test paper as promised by mrs nancy tay, i am careless in a question; i din label the parts clearly so she marked my whole ans for the 1st part of the qn lor...so here i minus some innocent (yuan wang) marks...but nvm, i am lucky enough to get an A1 :D

English: returned compre paper nov 1993, very lucky that my marks are pretty fine, so was very happy about it. Lokelf went thru the summary and that is the area i din do very well...coz some of my ideas are not very clear...(din really notice it...)

Physics: went thru electromagnetism (sort of a revision), i think she gonna start next chapter on electronics soon on monday liao, i think...

Maths: introduced to us position vectors.

Bio: finished asexual reproduction and we are starting on sexual reproduction in humans on monday! :D

EP3: the key matter is solved now...so everything is settled regarding about the key matter.

Sci quiz: the training stretched up to 9.30pm. Mak and kenneth khoo, together wif jonathan lin and wei kok came and taught us astronomy.

Reached home at about 10pm.

Some chemistry knowledge:

Rhodium metal is silvery white. Rhodium has a higher melting point and lower density than platinum. It has a high reflectance and is hard and durable. Upon heating it turns to the oxide when red and at higher temperatures turns back to the element. It is a major component of industrial catalytic systems such as the BP-Monsanto process.

Thursday, April 15, 2004

For the sake of chem test tomolo, i shall make this short and sweet :D

Ok, physics prac was demo, so we juz take down ans from mrs ng. Next, chs lecture 2004, speaker: Mr Sitoh Yih Pin, on the whole, he spoke well and the dialogue session was okay in general. Brandon's music was fantastic! :D

Chem: find that we are quite slow coz aphelion and ispark are faster than us (they start on organic chem liao and we still stuck at metals!)

Maths: vectors

SS: expected lesson

Higher chinese: something unpleasant happened again...haiz, poor wongsm. Did gong han today

Sci quiz: managed to finish all our stuff today :D Mak and kenneth khoo taught us astronomy, and now i am saturated wif astro knowledge liao...

Reached home at about 8.15pm.

Some chemistry knowledge:

Ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, and platinum together make up a group of elements referred to as the platinum group metals (PGM).

The name iridium is appropriate, for its salts are highly coloured. Iridium is white, similar to platinum, but with a slight yellowish cast. It is very hard and brittle, making it very hard to machine, form, or work. It is the most corrosion resistant metal known, and was used in making the standard metre bar of Paris, which is a 90% platinum-10% iridium alloy. This metre bar has since been replaced as a fundamental unit of length.

Iridium is not attacked by any of the acids nor by aqua regia, but is attacked by molten salts, such as NaCl and NaCN.

Blackout in the middle of the night, thank god my air con was on b4 the electricity was off. Dogs howling, people complaining...haiz, the whole block was BLACK. hahaz

The day started off with chem prac, QA, hahaz, this is not the normal qa, it involves a lot of extra knowledge.

Higher chinese: went thru gong han + returned compre assignment. But wongsm was offended when someone said she marked very slow...and she walked out of class...-_-

Double english: picture description...listened to some samples of good and bad ones, hahaz, some people are just so funny when they described the pictures...:P

Double maths: integration quiz (i totally forgot about it...some more the class din even mention it lor...hahaz) + vectors...

Extra bio lesson: return bio test paper. Lesson stretched up to 3pm. Sci quiz after that. leefy was slapping us wif qns so i got no time to finish the syllabus, so no choice, tml by hook or by crook muz finish...

Met lu xin on my way, laming wif him while waiting for my bus, hahaz

Some chemistry knowledge:

Indium is a very soft, silvery-white metal with a brilliant lustre. The pure metal gives a high-pitched "scream" when bent. It wets glass, as does gallium. It is useful for making low-melting alloys. An alloy of 24% indium and 76% gallium is liquid at room temperature. Canada produces the majority of of the world's supply of indium.

What crap is this? Today is simply crap

SS: ok lah, miss sim tried to finish the topic on population but too bad, it isn't that interesting so...erm...our heads juz cannot keep still...

Bio: yipcw taught us some moral education today...hmm...and she started on asexual reproduction and other stuff on the reproduction in plants

English: finally finished oral passaging, we gonna move on to picture description

Maths: vectors again

Geog: nancy tay hurt her toe nail coz of giang :P, hahaz, and today she did something rather special, but it was not that fruitful after all...-_-

Higher chinese: returned gong han, din do very well...and i make two stupid mistakes...haiz...

EP3: mrs chan gave us another moral education coz she was quite disappointed wif one person -_-

Managed to return home not too late (around 5+pm), so i got some free time for myself :D

Some chemistry knowledge:

Krypton is present in the air at about 1 ppm. The atmosphere of Mars contains a little (about 0.3 ppm) of krypton. It is characterised by its brilliant green and orange spectral lines. The spectral lines of krypton are easily produced and some are very sharp. In 1960 it was internationally agreed that the fundamental unit of length, the metre, should be defined as 1 m = 1,650,763.73 wavelengths (in vacuo) of the orange-red line of Kr-33.

Under normal conditions krypton is colourless, odourless, fairly expensive gas. Solid krypton is a white crystalline substance with a face-centered cubic structure which is common to all the "rare gases". Krypton difluoride has been prepared in gram quantities and can be made by several methods.

The day started off with lokelf slapping us wif her acidic words and nasty remarks when some ppl did not hand in their remedial work. Let me quote her :D

"Get that bloody 6-letter word out of your vocab"

"Then you should bring your printer here and i shall punish it, smashing it into (dunno what she said)"

Nvm, lets forget about it.

I shall eliminate what happened next. Nvm, i shall not expose the ugly side of me here. You should know my feelings by now.

Ok, here comes physics, had another crap lesson again, coz mrs ng was unhappy wif those (like ME) who forgot to do the physics wks...and she wanted us to do it in class...so the lesson wasn't very fruitful after all.

Nvm, higher chinese next, the lesson was just doing a wks consisting of sec 1 ci yu. Crap.

Geog test next, only last qn is pure memory work. And volcanoes did not come out AGAIN...foreva, nvm, wen xi said the 1st qn is a tys qn, but yesterdae no time to look at tys lah

Double maths: new topic today - vectors. But b4 that went thru a maths test on integration. The lessons are getting more and more physics liao...hahaz

Ok, after lunch - english language common test, paper 1 (free essay + functional writing). Managed to churn out something of reasonable length.

Sci quiz training: leonard was sick so din come, yi yang was also a little bit sick; he was sneezing away at times. Had a good time chatting wif leefy and knew a lot of things that i din know initially :D

Some chemistry knowledge:

Selenium can be prepared with either an amorphous or crystalline structure. Crystalline monoclinic selenium is deep red; crystalline hexagonal selenium, the most stable variety, is a metallic grey (see picture above). Elemental selenium is relatively nontoxic and is considered to be an essential trace element. However, hydrogen selenide and other selenium compounds are extremely toxic, and resemble arsenic in their physiological reactions. Hydrogen selenide in a concentration of 1.5 ppm is intolerable to man. Selenium occurs in some soils in amounts sufficient to produce serious effects on animals feeding on plants such as locoweed (an American plant) grown in such soils.

Today 11am woke up, still feeling sleepy...haiz what a pig

Tml is geog test, eng test and nafa test, and yes, i am still blogging here. I read thru geog textbook once and nothing gets inside...yeah! Ok, shall read it again later, now no mood. Feeling very tired.

Thank god i finished my hwk long ago and prepared my sci quiz stuff yesterdae, so today was juz for revision. hahaz :D

Saturday, April 10, 2004

Today morning, CIP at cdac, initially thought it was juz an easy task, do this and that and end it fast. BUT, i din expect it to be so brain-demanding and at the end of the day, exhaust myself a lot...

Ok, what we are doing for cdac is to select people who qualify for some progress awards, so we have to separate and categorise different sections for them (a lot of different categories) and we have to copy down the names of those qualified ones and look for their attendance, teacher's remarks, teacher's name etc etc...in the end we cant even finish in 6 hrs...so have to come back next week to continue to clear the pile. BUt it is do-able lah...

Ok, after the tiring cip, went to KFC to have lunch, lu xin is foreva the goper...hahaz, too bad lah, he **** mah...:P

Initially we plan to watch hellboy one...then fang tao and eng liang dun wanna watch, and some more it is getting late liao and the lame thing is the hellboy movie time is not good at all, so in the end din watch -_-

Some chemistry knowledge:

Polonium has more isotopes than any other element, all of which are radioactive. Polonium dissolves readily in dilute acids, but is only slightly soluble in alkalis.

Weight for weight it is about 2.5 x 10^11 times as toxic as hydrocyanic acid (HCN). Polonium has been found in tobacco as a contaminant and in uranium ores.

Polonium is radioactive and excessivley rare in nature. It is made in very small qunatities through a nuclear reaction of bismuth. Neutron irradiation of bismuth-209 (atomic number 83) gives polonium-210 (atomic number 84).

Metallic polonium can be fractionally distilled from the bismuth or electrodeposited onto a metal surface such as silver.

Today is Good Friday :D
Yesterday my bro came back from NS and i got the first hand information what NS life is:

1. You muz be disciplined
2. You muz be able to endure
3. You muz be fast when instructions are passed down from the officer, dun dilly dally
4. You muz eat fast, coz only 20 min given and you have to queue up somemore

My bro is lucky enough to get a quite good officer (not VERY fierce and niao type...), the officer is one of those lao3 bin1 lah, very experienced one...if you are guai1 and disciplined, he will be good to you. So hahaz, my bro veri lucky, at least the officer din make life difficult for him. Well...his roomates are all from JCs, so no gangsters.

The bodak head right? It is not that bad lah, quite nice also, but if you are those ppl who hate short hair then too bad lah, for me, i always cut short hair one, so hahaz, the hairstyle to me isn't so bad...in fact it is not bad lah :P, and you have to cut the hair at least once a month. My bro changed so much (i mean in terms of looks) coz he dun cut short hair one, so in his short-haired look, he looked so different :D

And he told me all the training stuff. Got one part where you have to carry VERY heavy stuff with your rifles, your BIG water bottles, your whateva stuff lah, then you have to run a certain distance, so your shoulders would be very suan lor...but nvm lah, like i said, muz endure lor...hahaz, this reminds me of the expenditure in OBS last year, where we also have to carry a heavy bag from OBS to dunno what land (cant rem) to camp there, and the distance was like quite a lot, but then after endure here and there, can finish one lah, motivation is the key :D

Thursday, April 08, 2004

Double physics lesson turned out to be a PCME lesson, coz mrs ng was upset about some people in my class who altered their ans when she wasn't around to collect the physics test papers (i forgot who collect the test papers...), so she talked about all those values lor, like integrity and in the end, wanted us to write out the lyrics of let's be and hua zhong xing! -_-

But in the end, she used the rest of her lesson to go thru physics test paper.

Assembly (mr tan peng tiong) and pcme (lecture by mr ng seow choon)...haiz...why aren't they interesting one arh?

Chemistry: continued the metals topic, wah i think hor, at the end of term 2 i think cannot finish the entire chemistry syllabus leh...coz tomolo we miss one chem lesson again and each week only got 2 chem lessons to teach (coz the double period is always reserved for chem prac and we got some more to do), so hor, dunno how mrs sow going to finish organic chem lor...hmm...some more the metals lor, still left some parts haven teach, but going to finish soon lah. But organic chem got a lot to teach lor...hahaz, dunno lah, since mrs sow say we quite fast, i think she can finish everything by term 2 lah, if not then come back during the june holidays lor...-_-

Maths: kinematics again...and it is completed liao (i think), so next week would be vectors...

SS: haiz, i think population is another video-watching chapter...

Higher chinese: compo again, this time is bao zhang bao dao, and while we were writing, wongsm was marking test papers :D

Yeah, long weekend for me to slack. I am going to come out wif a quiz for my sci quiz team members (coz i have finished teaching liao, maybe wanna re-emphasise again tomolo when we were online?) :D

I wanna watch hellboy during the weekend, but got this cip thingy and i forgot tomolo is good friday so cannot tell them to go to CDAC at 9am! arghz...i am asking mrs chan to help me post on smb...hope she saw my message and helped me post :D

Some chemistry knowledge:

Pure aluminium is a silvery-white metal with many desirable characteristics. It is light, nontoxic (as the metal), nonmagnetic and nonsparking. It is somewhat decorative. It is easily formed, machined, and cast. Pure aluminium is soft and lacks strength, but alloys with small amounts of copper, magnesium, silicon, manganese, and other elements have very useful properties. Aluminium is an abundant element in the earth's crust, but it is not found free in nature. The Bayer process is used to refine aluminium from bauxite, an aluminium ore.

Chem prac early in the morning, titration so the same old usual way of doing titration. The extended qn was regarding back titration, hahaz, i forgot about it liao and when suddenly chao rong said something about that, i hu ran jian remember everything...:D

Higher chinese test after prac, got one han4 zi4 i dunno so -1 liao...

Nvm, next up is double eng: now we move on to functional writing and the common test was on next monday lor...so we muz somehow revise on our own and somehow get the format, lang and tone right...

Double maths: a maths test on integration, wen xi kenna blacked out (he told me), but dun worri lah, wun do very bad one lah...

Hahaz, afternoon so free, coz sci quiz trainng at 3.00pm+, so was slacking wif wen xi (coz his CO is at 3.30pm), we went to staff room to k-p-o about bio marks (wen xi's), coz he juz wanna confirm whether he got a1 or not...hahaz, coz he asked yipcw last time liao, so today he asked again and yipcw was a bit irritated...coz she was bz doing something mah...hahaz, and the prob is because yipcw used the word "maybe", actually she is confirmed that wen xi got a1...hahaz, maybe she is too rush for the mtg liao lah...

Mrs ng was on her table but we dun wanna be so k-p-o and ask for physics test. We also went to look for lokelf to see if she can gif us feedback on our functional writing, coz monday is the common test ardy mah, actually what we wanted is to see our marks for the function piece, but lokelf din catch it and she thought we were very worried about monday common test, so we were like trying to ask for feedback from lokelf and see if she can help us, well...that was part of the objective of seeing her but actually the most important part is how we scored for the functional piece...-_-, nvm lah, hahaz

Kee Hooi Eng was despising wen xi coz she now then know wen xi is in CO, hahaz, coz she thought wen xi's ep3 is something related to those computer and stuff like that (i think she is referring to ec3), hahaz, and wongsm played along wif her...

The sci quiz ppl were lam-ing around leefy's table coz laura ng was using CR8, but eventually, we shared the room wif laura ng and she was offering us some food to us and told us to eat...we din eat till the end of the sci quiz training. But it was so nice of her.

Haiz, i think i did a bad job teaching on the nature of light coz last night i was rushing the notes out and din really look thru it, so i was not really prepared to teach, and sometimes i cannot really explain and illustrate lor...haiz, nvm, what done is done, i will come up wif a quiz soon and test them :P

Hahaz, we were talking about some teachers in CR8 (well, LOUIE, it is sometimes USEFUL to know the teachers in TCHS ok?) and we have a good time chatting, coz leefy was telling us some jokes which are VERY funny :P

Some chemistry knowledge:

Osmium metal is lustrous, bluish white, extremely hard, and brittle even at high temperatures. It has the highest melting point and lowest vapour pressure of the platinum group. The metal is very difficult to fabricate, but the powder can be sintered in a hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature of 2000°C. The solid metal is not affected by air at room temperature, but the powdered or spongy metal slowly gives off osmium tetroxide, which is a powerful oxidising agent and has a strong smell. The tetroxide is highly toxic, and boils at 130°C (760 mm). Concentrations in air as low as 10^-7 g m^-3 can cause lung congestion, skin damage, or eye damage.

Formula of Osmium tetroxide: OsO4 (oxidation of osmium = +8, oxygen = -2)

SS test today on the double period, din spot the qn for 1a), so at first was like xia dao, but in the end, heng i write something out of it.

Bio: continued on reproduction in plants lecture, haiz, this topic is so long and still she haven finished...and we haven even start on humans and those sexually transmitted diseases, and some more left one topic on the genetic engineering. Wah, still got a lot to cover lor...

English: oral passaging again...

Maths: Kinematics again

Geog: finished all the videos and today is highlighting of impt pts in textbook...-_-

Chinese: went thru how to write good compos again...with all the structure and vocab given to us :D, hahaz, this is what i need...

Rushed to SIR to change my passport photo, took only 15 min coz dun have long queue. Later went to eat at adam road food centre, the duck rice there not bad...but i embarrassed myself there, coz my father recommended me the mutton soup, coz i was thinking of "yang2" all the time, in the end when i ordered the duck rice, i say, "yang2 rou4 fan4" -_-, and the person selling was like "HAR?"...-_- BISH

Managed to return sch at 3pm. hahaz. Got mass teacher gatheirng so i cannot hand in my passport to yipcw coz she told me dun leave it on her table (passport very impt document mah), so wait for tml lor, after all, it is not very rush wad (i thought it is very rush, then today yipcw told me not rush...-_-, some people are handing in on next MONDAY! really very rush lah hor -_-)

Something unpleasant happened today, coz SOME ppl were SO childish to send some LAME messages to SOMEONE, and ME got to explain to THAT PERSON about the WHOLE JOKE...-_-, be more mature lah, how many years old liao still dunno how to behave in a more mature way...

Tomolo is higher chinese test and i still got the last topic of physics for sci quiz to finish. So, should i end my entry now? Yes, i should (lame)

Some chemistry knowledge:

Iodine is a bluish-black, lustrous solid. It volatilises at ambient temperatures into a pretty blue-violet gas with an irritating odour.

It forms compounds with most elements, but is less reactive than the other halogens, which displace it from iodides. Iodine exhibits some metallic-like properties. It dissolves readily in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, or carbon disulphide to form beautiful purple solutions. It is only slightly soluble in water. Iodine compounds are important in organic chemistry and very useful in medicine and photography. Lack of iodine is the cause of goitre (Derbyshire neck). The deep blue colour with starch solution is characteristic of the free element. It is assimilated by seaweeds from which it may be recovered, and is found in Chilean saltpetre, caliche, old salt brines, and salt wells.

i din blog yesterdae meh? Forgot liao...but nvm, nothing much happened yesterdae, morning watch TV, afternoon slack around and then later do hwk.

Today is rather crap except for 2.4 test.

English: oral passaging again, and STILL haven finish...(actually hor, going to finish liao lah, but left a few more to go)

PE: nafa test, 2.4km run, yeah, managed to finish the run in 11.44 minutes, so 3 points for me :D

Physics: hahaz, coz i was bz doing something else in previous physics lessons, so unable to understand certain parts, so was bz asking wen xi to clear my doubts :D, i think at least i sort of understand liao lah...

Chinese: After that typical zao ju, we did the ci yu exercise again to lower our morale even furthur...haiz

Geog: watch video again...and mrs tay settled wif us the geog test dates liao. Wah lau, 1st thing she said today was this wed is geog test! The class was like so xia dao...but nvm, it was postponed to next monday liao...topic is crustal movements

Double maths: supposed to have a maths test on integration but due to some reasons it was postponed to wednesday, so the whole double maths was doing on kinematics...copying notes on the board and doing hwk...-_-

I was calling my father to arrange for tomolo's trip to change my passport photo, coz i have to be there personally to change it, so i have to sacrifice my ep3 for this. I have sms-ed mrs chan about it but she haven replied me...nvm i think by tomolo she will read my message...dunno what her reaction would be...but i have no choice wad...tomolo is the deadline lor...nvm, i got tell her i will rush back to TCHS asap...:D

Bio prac: hahaz, it seems like a half lecture half practical session, but today's practical not very fun lah, juz observe here and there, and draw here and there.

Sci quiz training: coz i have to wait for some ppl to hand in their maths hwk so i was late for the training, hahaz, yi yang and leonard are waiting for me...nvm lah, at least we managed to finish what we are supposed to finish. And yeah, by wed, i am going to finish the physics stuff liao :D So friday would be revision and maybe i will come up wif a quiz for them to try :[

But hor, wed got higher chinese test and i would be home at about 6pm+, after settling some stuff, i think only left about 2-3 hrs doing my sci quiz stuff (which is a lot...coz need understanding + typing out and scanning out things) and studying for higher chinese test which is sec 4 shang, not those sec 1 words which are simpler and easier...nvm, i shall be optimistic.

Tomolo got SS test on education + health care services and mi still blogging here? hahaz.

I recommend this song to everyone:

Secret Garden - Nocturne (nocturne is the song's name, it is by secret garden)

VERY nice and VERY good song. I think this song is dunno what movie's theme song leh...i am sure i have heard of it somewhere (not in super teens camp, when i heard this in super teens, i ardy start thinking which movie liao...)

I have checked out some soundtrack CDs for some movies and these movies dun have this song:

1. Lord of the Rings
2. The last samurai

I think it is a chinese movie and i am a feeling that it is Warriors of heaven and earth (tian di ying xiong, starring zhao wei, jiang wen etc), but i could not find the soundtrack.

Please help me think which movie it is leh...coz i am sure it is some theme song of some movie. It is juz that i could not remember. And lu xin also feels the same as me. He says it is very shu xi too...

Some chemistry knowledge:

Nitrogen is a Group V element. Nitrogen makes up about 78% of the atmosphere by volume but the atmosphere of Mars contains less than 3% nitrogen. The element seemed so inert that Lavoisier named it azote, meaning "without life". However, its compounds are vital components of foods, fertilizers, and explosives. Nitrogen gas is colourless, odourless, and generally inert. As a liquid it is also colourless and odourless.

When nitrogen is heated, it combines directly with magnesium, lithium, or calcium. When mixed with oxygen and subjected to electric sparks, it forms nitric oxide and then the dioxide. When heated under pressure with hydrogen in the presence of a suitable catalyst , ammonia forms (Haber process). Nitrogen is "fixed" from the atmosphere by bacteria in the roots of certain plants such as clover. Hence the usefulness of clover in crop rotation.

Half way there to finish my a maths hwk...and i dunno whether i need to be present if i wanna change my passport photo, coz the sch says my photo donkey years ago so muz change for the annual camp in may and i have to bring the passport on 6-4-2004 (tuesday).

IF i really need to go, die liao lor. Monday i am NOT free at all and the place there wun wait for me, so i JUST hope that my presence is NOT needed...coz i have the photo liao, it is juz the matter of changing it only...

Forgot to add something yesterday...while waiting for the bus to come, leefy commented that i have an aphelion face...-_-, i thought i very ProEd one?...:P

Some chemistry knowledge:

Mercury is the only common metal liquid at ordinary temperatures. Mercury is sometimes called quicksilver. It rarely occurs free in nature and is found mainly in cinnabar ore (HgS) in Spain and Italy. It is a heavy, silvery-white liquid metal. It is a rather poor conductor of heat as compared with other metals but is a fair conductor of electricity. It alloys easily with many metals, such as gold, silver, and tin. These alloys are called amalgams. Its ease in amalgamating with gold is made use of in the recovery of gold from its ores.

The most important salts are mercuric chloride (corrosive sublimate - a violent poison), mercurous chloride (calomel, occasionally still used in medicine), mercury fulminate, a detonator used in explosives), and mercuric sulphide (HgS, vermillion, a high-grade paint pigment).

Organic mercury compounds are important - and dangerous. Methyl mercury is a lethal pollutant found in rivers and lakes. The main source of pollution is industrial wastes settling to the river and lake bottoms.

As mercury is a very volatile element, dangerous levels are readily attained in air. Mercury vapour should not exceed 0.1 mg m^-3 in air. Air saturated with the vapour at 20°C contains mercury in a concentration far greater than that limit. The danger increases at higher temperatures. It is therefore important that mercury be handled with care. Containers of mercury should be securely covered and spillage should be avoided. Mercury should only be handled under in a well-ventilated area. If you are in possession of any mercury you are advised to contact a properly qualified chemist or public health laboratory for its safe disposal.

Small amounts of mercury spillage can be cleaned up by addition of sulphur powder. The resulting mixture should be disposed of carefully.
Morning went to CDAC in paya lebar to attend a briefing for the ep3 cip for next week...and i dunno why after the briefing, my stomach very painful...ate KFC there, but still very painful, so not in the mood to watch movies wif lu xin. So, went home and finally recpvered...:D

I think i push everything to tonight or tomolo, hahaz, now i wanna rest for a while by slacking away :D

Friday, April 02, 2004

My nose was bleeding again in the morning, din even realise it coz i was happily asleep when my nose was bleeding away...haiz

Continued bleeding for the early half of lessons, but it is getting better liao...

i think i am too heaty...hahaz, wongsm was rather shocked when she knew that my bleeding came back again, and i always bleed during her period! hahaz...

English: returned compre paper, got 33/50 (foreva this kind of mark), some ppl get >40, so high lor...chemistry period was goped by lokelf, so she managed to finish going thru the whole compre paper.

Physics: din really pay attention coz i am bz studying bio and revising the facts, i noe she is talking about some magnetic field, about a force that causes the wire to flung out or something, whateva lah, mi reading textbook to get better idea (if i got time)

Maths: continued our integration topic, i think finished everything liao :D

Bio: Biology test on drugs + microorganisms + biotechnology. The essay qn was sort of a surprise to me, but luckily i din have a mental block when answering that qn...wah, heng the whole test i din slack around or do slowly, coz if i did that confirm no time to finish, coz i finished the paper just on time when yipcw was collecting the papers.

EP3: three students who wanna joined my ep3 were trialed by some people, i dunno whether they are in or what, coz i din ask mrs chan. Tomolo we need to go to some organisation in paya lebar that region there to do ep3 CIP! some more 9 am i have to meet lu xin and some others at jurong east, means eight something i muz wake up! wah lau, i thought weekend can rest or what, then got this cip, which may stretch up to 4pm! Wah! My own free time gone liao...

But nvm, at least i spent my time fruitfully :D

Sci quiz training at 6pm+, hahaz, during the free time of waiting for some others to come to CR 8, mi do some qns for a maths hwk :D, the training stretches up to 8pm+...and i juz realise something. Alfred seng is REALLY GOOD! Oh my god! His bio is REALLY qiang ok? he can remember the structure of the ears and the labels, the DNA and RNA stuff, mitosis facts etc etc, his brain is really BIO leh! How come some people the memory so good one arh?

Rather tired today...tomolo still got cip. Monday Nafa test! 2.4km run

Some chemistry knowledge:

Sulphur is a pale yellow, odourless, brittle solid, which is insoluble in water but soluble in carbon disulphide. Sulphur is essential to life. It is a minor constituent of fats, body fluids, and skeletal minerals.

Phosphorus is an essential component of living systems and is found in nervous tissue, bones and cell protoplasm. Phosphorus exists in several allotropic forms including white (or yellow), red, and black (or violet). White phosphorus has two modifications. Ordinary phosphorus is a waxy white solid. When pure, it is colourless and transparent. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in carbon disulphide. It catches fire spontaneously in air, burning to phosphorus (V) oxide. When exposed to sunlight, or when heated in its own vapour to 250°C, it is converted to the red variety. This form does not ignite spontaneously and it is a little less dangerous than white phosphorus. The red modification is fairly stable and sublimes with a vapour pressure of 1 atmosphere at 417°C.

April's Fool Day! But nothing really happened in school...

Physics test was not that easy after all, coz got one qn i fumbled...but heng in the end i think i got the correct ans, but there is one qn whereby no one is really sure of how to answer it...hahaz, so strange.

Assembly was sianz, talk for two hrs and some ppl are so lame and trying to be funny and cute, but it din work, so it juz makes him look like an irritating fool...haiz

Double maths (coz sungkk gope mrs sow's chem period): teach applications of integration again. Yeah, managed to clear all my maths stuff today...

SSH: hahaz, the new chapter was on population, which we cover in geog :D

Double chinese: write compo, dunno why, in the middle of writing, mi got nose bleeding...-_- wah lau, i so long nv nose bleed liao, dunno why, i think the flu i got previously really damage my nose, maybe i sneeze a log previously, so the blood vessels kenna burst, so maybe i am too heaty. I used so many tissues! :P

Managed to finish compo and rushed back home, coz i need to do a lot of stuff todae:

1. Preparation of bio test tomolo (drugs + microorganisms + biotech)
2. Preparation of sci quiz material for tomolo (radioactivity)

Some chemistry knowledge:

Francium is vanishingly rare and is found only as very small traces in some uranium minerals. It has never been isolated as the pure element. As it is so radioactive, any amount formed would decompose to other elements. Francium occurs as a result of alpha disintegration of actinium and can be made artificially by bombarding thorium with protons. It is the most unstable of the first 101 elements.
